I voted "yes", love the new rule rule book, beautifully presented, also a great way to get a stash of models for a low price, even if i have got them all before (with the exception of King Theoden of course)

I voted yes, even though I didn't get it, because I have nearly all the models. I heard the guy on The Green Dragon criticizing it. I think it's a nice deal for people new to the game though.

Glad to see everyone is enjoying it. :) I like the sprues for the Mordor Troll and Theoden, as we can customize them... Super nice!
Heroic tiers are nice, but still no volley fire. But the War Mumak of Harad has some nice available upgrades, tough hide is good for bow protection.

I like it a lot. Just a little disappointed that Azog is still a better fighter than Aragorn, Boromir, Eomer, Imrahil, etc. and just as good as Glorfindel.

I like the box set. I do wish it was all new models, but I see it as a chance to show GW that there is still interest in the game.

As for the absence of volley fire, with all due respect- I really mean that, IMHO that was the worst rule to ever be part of the game. I worked at a GW at that time, and the amount of volley fire from behind terrain was obscene. It was a very ‘gamey’ rule. Keep in mind that I typically play evil, so my armies would benefit most from the rule. If they bring it back, it should be part of the siege rules.

As for Azog, I have no idea why he is so good. Thorin could not stand up to him rules wise. He should be fight value 6 not 7. It makes no sense. He would crush most good heroes. Another issue I have is with the trolls in Azog’s legion. They are 10 points more than an izengaurd troll, and are stronger, with 1 more wound (I believe), and really powerful weapons. They dropped the ball on balancing a lot of those models. I hope they get reworked when the hobbit profiles come out.

I also voted yes.

The value for money is awesome.

Including the full rulebook is great, rather than a smaller version as done before.

The Theoden is a really cool sculpt also!

Hoping to see much more coming out soon :D

It's a great set. I already have loads of everything in the set besides Theoden but it's too good a saving to pass up. Would I have bought it had he not been in the box though? Probably not. Clever marketing.

I voted yes because, as others have said, you get your moneys worth. For me personally I like it because I didn't already have everything in it so it helped fill in a couple gaps in my collection. I also like having large armies, and this will definitely help with that. I'm hoping to get back into gaming, nothing crazy, just with friends and family, so having the rules is nice too.

As somebody who is looking to get back into collecting Middle-Earth miniatures its a great set for me. Sold all my collection a while back aside from a few of my favourite miniatures so I pretty much need everything in the box anyway and I’ll get Theoden and the rules with it too. I’ll probably buy a lot of the other stuff I want on Ebay afterwards though!
