I'd like to see some more dwarves from the Iron Hills, and some Men of Dale. |

I've heard that Del Toro is fairly intent on making his own designs, etc. Apparently, the studio is also thinking of remaking the trilogy after The Hobbit to cash in, and it will look and fell different. I can't remember where this info came from, but it was in a magazine or on a website. I remember reading it rather than hearing it, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I think this is a phenomenally BAD idea. Abandoning the infrastructure and brilliant costumes, props etc that PJ and his team assembled would be ludicrous! |

He is redesigning only a few things. It has been said in many interviews that Hobbiton will look the same, just expanded. The Rivendell miniature from the trilogy is also to be used, so the set logically will probably look quite similar to the ones in the trilogy. But on the subject of design changes, it's a good thing I think. The current eagles, wargs, and spider designs are unable to speak as they do in the Hobbit. Warg redesigns are fine, since the Wargs in the trilogy live in the Rohan/Dunland region, while the Wargs in the Hobbit are much further north, thus they can be two subspecies of Wargs (just like the Grey Wolf and the Red Wolf in our own world look very different, despite naturally living only a few thousand miles away from each other. As for everything else, don't worry! WETA is doing all the designs, and Mr Jackson is serving as the executive producer, which means he has a HUGE say in the design, since he's the money. Cheers, Wolfy |

Ah, cheers Wolfy! Good to know. I'd heard that dreaded "R" word... "Reboot," as in, re-imagining the entire franchise. Glad to know that more recent news has dispelled that rumour! |

I hope it's going happen! I think so, because it would be a new way for GW to earn more money! And I guess that is one of their highest Priorities This might mean a bigger update for the elves and The White Council in Mirkwood. If It happens I cant wait to see it! Yeah man |

Cheers, Wolfy Also know that Mike Mignola of Hellboy fame is working on the film too. DelTorro loves him, so we will see his spin on Middle Earth I am sure. |

Does anyone know whether the "Hobbit" will feature the Necromancer as well, I am aware that Necromancer was only briefly mentioned in the book twice or three times but still I´m curious .... ...theres the problem if they make him in the movie ..the mini that GW has created so far probably woun´t match the movies version. |

Since (What I've heard) the white council will appear in the movie, I would guess that the necromancer will appear. The fight between necromancer and the white council is held at the same time as The Hobbit. |

I think it mostly depends on whether they can do it. I don't know what the requirements are. To make a 3D movie, do they need to use a specific type of camera? Or edit it in a certain suite? (as in software package, not hotel room) I firmly believe that if New Line CAN turn the trilogy into 3D and make a bucket more money off it, they will. I'd see it for sure, but I rarely pass up the opportunity to see the LoTR films on a huge screen! |

They can do it, they have the technology, but the question is if they think it's worth the money. I guess it's pretty expensive. |

you're all forgetting the most important thing, GW figures of the three trolls |

haha. They could be some nice miniatures. I can also imagine a WD article encouraging people to buy the set, even if just to paint as stone and use them for scenery! |
