Well, it would seem that GW decided that we needed thin plastic glue, and thick superglue....

I don't waste my money on the WD (Unlike some others.... :E (Not mentioning any names or pointing any fingers of course.... ))

It hadn't been posted, and I just saw it on the front page of GW's site, so I thought I might as well make a topic.

Wellm unlike the paints, Finecast, reboxing etc, there isn;t much to discuss. It's just there now Super/Plastic glue for large/small models, it's nothing to get exited about IMO, calm down it's only glue. Nice idea though, it seemed most of us (me anyway) care little for new glues.

(Some WD's have decent LotR content  )

Love this haha.

From Whats New Today: "The new Plastic Glue Thin features a long application nozzle, which is perfect for gluing together smaller components, while the Super Glue Thick has a slightly denser consistency, which is ideal on your larger Citadel Finecast models, and also useful for filling in any gaps between the resin surfaces. Make sure you order them today and start using them on your models."

Troll-troll-lol. :P

I use two different types of super glue, thick and thin but then I take this hobby seriously... or mistakenly bought thick when i wanted thin,

I have thick and think super glue, because two doors down from our GW the glue is £2.90 for more, compared to £4.10, but as we're only allowed to use GW products in the store, I'll pick up some of the new stuff and compare it to the cheaper brands :)

Chinese super glue + biscuit :-D

Biscuit = same as green stuff but realy cheap insane price. the GW glue is too expensive...at least for me :x and i wont even speak about the green stuff... its not offtopic speaking about green stuff here i think...because sometimes some metal mini's require more then glue...if i want them to stick together for more then 1 minute lol (1 metal troll for example) <.< lets just say that when i dont want something to fall on the floor it happens more then 10 times so i need a strong glue

I never liked their original plastic glue. If it goes unused for too long, it will become too viscous and stringy that you can make your own spiderweb. I like the concept of this new plastic glue, if what they really mean is that they made the glue itself thinner in consistency, and the long nozzle would make it less of a hassle for those small areas.

And it's good that they have thicker super glue because the original just ran through the crevices for being too liquidy that I usually applied paint before just to have a viscous effect. Otherwise it takes a good many minutes for metal parts to stick together, which means my hands aren't free for several minutes doing other things.

Considering they have everything else, of course they're going to release some of this stuff.

GW does not make glue or paint. They purchase some other manufactures product and put a GW label on it and mark it up.Every hobby product they sell is available else where for less. The cheaper brand may very well be the same product.
You work for them and have to do as they will.I don't have to pay more and I won't. :puppy:

Interesting..
Do you have an example for their paints?
And other hobby materials?

This isn't quite true. Their static grass is different. Antenociti did a comparison, and GW's grass is subtley different than others. http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/news/2010/10/static-grass-comparisons/

*edit* found the article on Antenociti, with pics...

Picked up a bottle of each today to try out.

The thin super glue seems good, dont think it's any stronger to the yellow humbrol bottle I use, so I'll be sticking with that for general use, and the GW stuff for in the store ;)

The thick super glue works fine too, but again I'll be getting the cheaper stuff for at home.

Both are good products that work, so nothing wrong with them. If you have no where else to buy good glue then it will work fine :)

The thin super glue and thick plastic glue are not new, only the thick super glue and thin plastic glue

I found your link interesting. It was disappointing that Antenociti did not include several of my favorite blends and brands in is comparison. You realize that most of the flocking manufacturers will make the maternal in most any blend of lengths and colors you want if you purchase enough volume. I don't use GW flocking because the blend looks like a golf course when it is applied. By favorite blend is Scenic Express Alpine Blend. I purchased some yesterday it was $6.99 for a 1 qt shaker bottle the 2 qt bottle and paper bags were cheaper by volume but will not fit the shelves. Antenociti did mention all flocking was the same quality and often 1/3 cheaper. I think I can do better than that but I don't have a vat tax..

The almost five year old proving to mom she can do it too!
You can see some of my flocking in the back ground.

I don't use GW paint the special names for the colors make comparisons difficult by design. There is a Paint thread on the rumor/news page. There is more info there.
I use different brands of hobby paint. I find the craft paint useful for terrain and crafts for the girls.

I am working on a tool list, The DSL has not been installed at the new house. I won't be back here for a day or two but I will post some links.

The thin plastic glue seems to be Testors in a GW bottle. The Testors bottle is a better bottle with a lower center of gravity and a nice thin nozzle. Testors for those who don't know them are a major plastic model kit company. Here is a link to their liquid plastic model cement.

Zap A Gap has had thick superglue for some time. I'm in the US so perhaps you foreign types haven't heard of these brands, but I highly recommend them.
