Hello, As you may remember the One Ring Rulebook and the mini rulebook that came with he Mines of Moria set had some differences, mainly that the mini book was missing the fortress rules. Besides the missing profile points costs are there any differences in the two Hobbit rulebooks? Im only concerned about the rules section, i understand the hobby and fluff sections will not be in the Goblin Town rulebook. Thanks in advance, -Z |

It's just missing the profiles and the hobby section to the best of my knowledge. And the mini ORB had the fortress section, it just didn't have as many profiles, the hobby section or the extra boat rules. |

OK, but do they include even the advanced rules in the Goblin Town set? I'm not too concerned about profiles or point costs... just want updated rules. |

Seems a bit mean to get you to pay £50 for point costs. Oh well. |

I called through to customer services to enquire about it. I was basically told the starter set only contains enough to start the game and learn the basics, like WH and 40K. When I was informed of this i sighed a little. Whilst i understand the choice they made what bugs me is the cost of getting these profiles. LOTR you could buy the starter set then your relavent SB. WH and 40k you buy your relevent AB or dex. But why on gods green earth do you need to spend another £50 to 'expand your playing experience' when alot of what is in the book is aimed at starters also. Though i am still tempted as i really like the new book. Just hate the principle. The difference between the two are a lack of hobby sections profile and points, but also the warband rules for the new stuff. Their is a new set of warband stuff for the White Council, elrond and his cavalry and the new dwarfs and orc hunters etc. But this stuff is very minor. |

I was actually under the impression that the points values for the included miniatures only, were available somewhere in the box set. I received mine yesterday (Thanks OzHammer!) and couldn't find them anywhere. Am I correct that they are actually not included? I found it rather ridiculous to spend the last 10 pages of TH SBG EFGT book talking about points matches, and not specifically stating WHERE you go to find the points for any model!?! They even provide point based scenarios to play (if they had given you the points, of course). As for the MoM ORB, it is page for page, identical to the hardback up to the end of the rules section. They go their separate ways from there on. All the digest versions of the rulebooks from GW follow this same format, even down to he page numbers. The only difference with LotR was that we have had a profile section in every rulebook release prior to The Hobbit SBG. |

What is also in the big book are scenarios for the film.... I dont think i will spend the money on the book though but this I would like to have had in a cheaper journey book orso... I guess ill just pass up on most of the hobbit stuff anyway, except the elven cavalary but their profiles are in the small book aswell (and i spied the points costs from my local GW jesterday when i was looking through the big book to try and make up my mind if i would buy it (ok ok i havent made it up yet....). |

In the the rules for cavalry, they compare the stats of the Rivedell Knights with the Hunter Orcs on Fell Wargs. However, the Hunter Orc's profile is incorrect. |

No, the fight and the strength should be switched. |
