Barad-dur.... fantastic. A pipe-dream building project for Nutters and EuroMillions winners only (you would need a special building to house the model!) Unfortunately I only qualify as a Nutter... |

You could try scaling it down I suppose...Imagine how huge it would be in The Hobbit SBG scale... |

Or use those techniques for constructing a smaller Mordor fort. Though a full scale Barad-Dur would be the hight of epicness. |

As others have said, the dream is to see this doe in 28mm scale, but... the reality is using the close up images of this model, to inspire us to try our hand at smaller sized fortresses, or perhaps using these as ideas for Dol Guldur - topical for the Hobbit - I was always a bit disappointed with the buildings featured in the Fall of the Necromancer book... |

Dol Guldur as seen in The Hobbit is not quite in the same style as Barad-dur and is ruinous, at least on the surface. Some of it mimics the angular style seen in some of the ruins in Ithilien, for example where Sam, Frodo and Gollum sheltered at the start of RotK. |
