Very nice, Bart! I will use this when I get around to painting my Gollum. And you finally gave away your secret of the other Gollum's reflection.

Excellent guide-great close-up photos. I have bookmarked this for when I get around to working on Smeagol/Gollum.

That is a great Gollum, and I would never have guessed that the reflection was done that way. What an effective technique!

I have always admired the quality of your work, Bart, and your articles reflect the same dedication. I will never tire of reading articles like this. Thanks for the effort, and the secrets! :)

Are you a robot? It's really hard to understand how you manage to creste so many great articles in so little time (unless you had been working on them earlier).

Anyway, this is yet another excellent step-by-step painting guide from you that I enjoyed reading thoroughly.

I can't stand this article!
it makes me cry seeing poor Smeagollum in this suffering pose with his bleeding wounds ....
;-)

of course, this is another supergreat guide from you!
(now I can search for my gollum ... where has he slipped and hidden this time ...?)

(How can you interrupt all the time your work to take a picture? I find these extremely difficult. This is probably because you with so much more experience know exactly what to do and only need certain number of steps (While I find myself often having done e.g. six layers of various ink washes and paints only to realise that it looks the same again as before those layers... ;-)

Came across this guide on a google search after being off this forum for some time. Really beautiful work. Loved the reflection - very clever way to create that reflection!

Also think your diorama is superb. It instantly took me back to that scene. Keep up your good work!

Great article, it looks very good when painted, and it doesn't seem to be so hard. The idea with Gollum's reflection is just brilliant! :)
