Simple, no nonsense explanation of basic in-close fighting. Very useful for beginners and asso a reminder to the more experienced not to forget the fundamentals. |

Lovely! It took a while (7 or 8 months), but I suppose with the new rules halfway through... A perfect guide showing what needs to be done and how it should be done... Lovely compliment to my article in the works |

A great concept for an article, Pasi! I am hoping there will be more of these articles. The photographs are marvellous too, really clear, and the models look really good. I think there is definite scope for these sorts of articles, as additional explanations go a long way towards helping one to grasp the ideas involved. More importantly, articles allow questions to be asked via the feedback. I suppose there is a tricky balancing act, not divulging rules, yet still conveying the concepts. Nonetheless, I hope we see more articles along these lines. I know I can benefit from them, as I get to game. |

Bart, I'm sure what you meant to say is "... if I only had a friend who plays it... AND lives near me". You have friends who play it, or want to play it, aplenty. Hint: Some of them have posted here. Seriously though, I know what it's like. The few occassions that I have gamed, I roped in a family member or two and had them use my minis (there is no way they would actually have their own). Fortunately, I don't mind accumulating a host of minis for such occassions, but they aren't frequent enough. Oh yeah, I paint slowly too. Back to the article though (at last), I too find these sort of articles rekindle my desire to try the gaming side of the hobby. Thanks again Pasi. |

This article will definitely come in handy when I finally get round to painting the whole army and start playing. Great pictures of wonderfully painted minis make reading it very pleasurable. |

Yeah, I wrote a draft several months ago and then I heard the new rulebook was on its way so I decided to wait and see. Plus had lots of other things to do meanwhile. The guide was originally quite a lot longer but after changes were made to the profiles, that is, practically everyone has a hand weapon now, the tactics for keeping two-handers alive changed and had to go. Shame. And thanks to everyone for the comments. They keep the motivation high! -- Pasi |
