$samoht, I agree that GW have every right to try to sell new products, they are in business to make money after all.

What I find objectionable is that they seem to target younger customers who often aren't experienced enough to know that there are cheaper and/or better alternatives. Their static grass and green stuff, for example, can be bought elsewhere for a fraction of the price.

The idea of selling a 'GW' water pot and palette is not bad in itself, but the price is grossly over-inflated. I just went to my local el-cheapo store and bought 100 plastic cups for $2.50. I expect these will last me as water pots for the next 10 years at least.

I don't know why you are getting all worked up about this.

It's not like they have announced the GW painting Chair, an exact replica of the Emperor of Mankind's Golden Throne.

Yet.

That one will only retail for $399.99 I bet. What a steal! Made with REAL gold-coloured paint! :-D

Ha Ha

I really do think the products are fine, its just the prices are far more than necessary.

*slightly random story
Once I remember saying to my family that a lot of the money GW gets is actually paying for the production of more miniatures.
My dad then said "No, more like your paying for someones holiday"
He hit the nail on the head.

Well yes, that's what everyone has been saying. Its not as if the product is terrible in and of itself, it is simply the fact that they're so ridiculously overpriced. I'm sure if they sold it at a price similar to what can be found at art stores and such, we'd be more than happy to buy it.

those of you from TLA probably recognise these
but seriously . . . they should lower the prices and dont make paint pallets in the shape a shield and expect people to spend more on it

But I'm on commission...

Expect to see -

GW Daylight Painting Bulb. Includes Daylight Savings Time, so that you can paint for an extra hour each day.

The Golden Daemon-tastic GW Brush Holder - Honestly, it's so much more than a few offcuts of MDF with some holes in the top... (Not to be confused with the Paintstation.)

We might as well all laugh at all these crazy ideas, because, due to the mindset of gamers, chances are, no matter what they release, at least 1 idiot will buy it, for completeness sake, or for kitsch value, or whatever.

I can't deny that that idiot is usually me...
