THis is a little premature, since I havent even bought paint yet, but I am wondering how do you go about creating the glowing effect on mini's? Say if I want the eyes to glow? and can this be done with all colors?
Cheers

You can either paint a minature with luminous (or glow in the dark) paint or you can paint using OSL. There is a guide about how to paint OSL in White Dwarf (UK) 360.

I personally wouldn't go with luminous paint. You can just use a VERY thinned down paint of a bright color, thinner than a wash. I've done it to good effect with both goblin green and blood red. You just keep adding layers of the thin colors until you get it to the strength of glow you want.

I agree with captain krak. I don't like using luminous paint, i prefer to paint OSL and use a similar technique to captain krak.

Thanks, for your responses. Just to clarify, it basically works like highlighting, just with much thinner paints and making sure that you get brighter as you get closer to the light source?

Pretty much, except that the paint is very thing so that you until you get really close to the object, when the colour is solid, you can still see the colours underneath.

Actually UV paint is not that bad. Its pretty much transparent and only glows under a UV lamp. I remember Temet Nosce did some experiments with it and it looked good but, unless you have a UV lamp, its pretty much useless too. Ehe.

I think the best option is OSL.

Thanks guys! Once I get a chance to pick up some paint I will try OSL. The luminous paints seem pointless, plus OSL looks like fun. I looked up some videos and it doesnt look too hard, just something that takes a bit of practice.

Oh and that 'Eavy Spray Metal Gun confuses me. I dont believe in it powers. hahah.
