Hey all, I have been pondering on how to mix different blues together. I have regal blue, and am going to get enchanted blue, oh and i also have skull white.

How can I make from these 3 colors, or actually just regal blue and skull white-ultramarines blue and ice blue?????

I would like ratio's please.

Also I was just wondering what is the best layering method of using the 4 blue colors?? Starting with the darkest being regal blue-to the lightest being ice blue??

You will also need Chaos Black if you wish to mix your own.

BLUES:

Midnight Blue = Enchanted Blue 2:11 Chaos Black
Regal Blue = Enchanted Blue 5:4 Chaos Black
Ultramarines Blue = Enchanted Blue 10:1 Chaos Black
Ice Blue = Enchanted Blue 1:8 Skull White

Depends on the purpose and the style you like. I'm so helpful...

But seriously, if you like low contrast (which I think looks better in display minis) and smooth transitions between colours, you can choose just two neighbouring colours, for example Regal Blue and Enchanted Blue. Then you mix the lighter colour to the darker one in increasing rations, for example pure Regal, 2:1 Regal + Enchanted, 1:1, 1:2 and finally pure Enchanted.

If you like high contrast (which in my opinion looks great at the battlefield), you can for example choose Regal as shade colour, Enchanted as the first highlight (typically covering most of the area) and Ice as the final highlight. And you can of course mix them into intermediate layers, for example 1:1 Regal + Enchanted between them and the same with Ice Blue. If you go for display quality, you can mix any number of layers between them.

And you can use the whole spectrum from black to white with all the blue colours in between, but that would probably look too strong. I suggest you start from the high contrast approach above and experiment a lot to find out what pleases your eye.
