Does anyone have an idea on how to paint multiple-colour banners? Somewhat like the Lannisters (red guys) in here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_pQYzwhTtlY/U ... actica.jpg Thanks in advance! |

For me I'm not sure if I understand the question corrctly but ill answer as best I can. I've never painted a 'single color' banner and for banners like the ones shown in the picture you provided I always use two different colored basecoats. So for example were I painting the banners in that pic I'd paint a white undercoat where I was going to paint the gold and a black undercoat where I was going to paint the red. It allows for stronger color contrasts and makes it pop if done right. |

I see. I was more talking about what colours to use to achieve the multiple layers in the lion - you can see bright gold, browny gold and outright brown, if you see what I mean. Still, thanks for the tip! |

Oh ok. If I were doing a range of colors like that I start by painting the whole area the darkest color, so in the above picture the crest would be that brown, then I would do successive dry-brushing layers of the lighter paints over what areas I wanted that lighter highlight. |
