Hi, I've been interested and a fan of lord of the rings and the hobbit since I can remember! I tried the sbg game about 5-6 years ago with the mines of moria set but there really was no one I could play against so I got put off. I watch the gbhl channel on YouTube and it's so funny and I've learnt loads off of it, so well done guys you've got me hooked again. I've put money aside so when I finish school in may I can buy my army so these are my question(s):

1.) gondor army-I'm fascinated by Gondor so:
Aragorn,king of gondor
Knights of gondor
Warriors of gondor
Faramir
Captain of gondor

Or

2.)Rohan-I've always liked Rohan
Eomer
Warriors of rohan
Riders of Rohan
Eowyn or urkenbrand

Please help me decide :D thank you

gondor or rohan its totaly up to what you like my friend :) start with an army you like most to see.

i would suggest to add a pack of rangers to your gondor army (if money is the problem consider dropping a hero or two).
if you are a beginer i would suggest focus more on units and captains rather than named heroes (of course buy some tho :) ) since heroes are a little more difficult to paint you will need to practice and get better on simple untis first and keep the heroes for your finale :)

so whatever is your choice i would suggest to go with something like that

1 major hero (like eomer or aragorn/boromir totaly up to who you like)
1 minor hero (could also be a banner or captain)
1 core untis (warriors or gondor/rohan)
1 riders of rohan if you choose rohan or rangers if you choose gondor
1 special units (like citadel guards/osgiliath vets/rohan royal guard ect ect)

this structure will give you also a complete small army for your first games :)

There's some good advice here. Be sure to purchase that big hero first thou as you'll have far more fun playing with your favorite as opposed to what's competitive

If you want to get started here is what would begin with for Gondor:

Boromir Captain of The White Tower Ft & Mt Blister
Commanders of Minas Tirith Box Set
Warriors of Minas Tirith Box Set
Knights of Minas Tirith Box Set
Guard of The Fountain Court Blister

You'll have a balanced force with some infantry, cavalry, elites and heroes. If you have another hero you like more than Boromir then buy them instead.

If you want to start Rohan though:

Erkenbrand Ft & Mt Blister
Commanders of Rohan Box Set
2x Riders of Rohan Box Sets
Warriors of Rohan Box Set

Rohan don't really have great elites other than Sons of Eorl and Royal Guard and are a cavalry based army hence two boxes of Riders of Rohan. As I said with Boromir change Erkenbrand if you have another hero you prefer.
