A great report, glad you enjoyed the system . Next time though, I would take Orc trackers over Orc archers, they are alot better (if you don't have any models then just use Orc archers, I doubt your opponent will mind ). |

Thanks - I think I need to learn the spells available so that I can use them to better effect! Still it was the first of many games! |

Nice report, great pics. I think you'll like the new war band system and the new scenarios...you'll be in combat much more quickly. |

Thanks, I hope so too, I have bought the new books, but will have to take it slow as I have other commitments, still Craig and Adrian both now the main rules so they should be able to help me learn! Still building my collection of figures - so looking forward to future Lotr and wotr battles I will post more battle reports as and when I get a chance. |

I've always enjoyed viewing the pics on your blog but never understood the WOTR rules... great to see you're trying the old system! From what I can tell you played it very well, keep the Witch King away from Mighty Boromir and crowd him with numbers. His chunky points size means the rest of his army will be relatively outnumbered. Also your cavalry performed well dispatching the small group on the flank. If you wanted to kill Boromir the best way to do it is Transfix with the Witch King and have your Orcs swamp him, that's the only thing I would have done differently. Really enjoyed the report and hope to see more (and also of your armies in battle!) |

I know Boromir is a good hero to use, but I felt from the beginning that your friend didn't stand a chance haha |
