Hello again So after much persuasion I got on my fellbeast and flew over to East Grinstead gaming club to join battle with Leonardis. Twas 3k points, whoever kills most wins. I had all my goblins (roughly 200 of the blighters) along with a Dragon, KoU of fellbeast and a couple of other wraiths. Leonardis (and his team-mate) had boromir, gandalf the white, 18 companies of KoMT and lots of dwarves. (seriously, the amount of khazad guard he has is impressive) Durin, Gimli, Murin & Drar all made cameo appearances. Result: Draw. After 2 hours of magic casting (mainly down to me) we agreed to call it a draw. I had lost 4/5 companies of goblins and the KoU (curse you boromir and your heroic dueling) but in return I killed boromir, gandalf and 12 companies of knights. (barely touched the dwarves, the took ages to reach the fight.) The KoU fell in the first turn after a brave charge backfired and boromir decided to duel him, winning and slaying both beast and wraith on the spot. Gandalf came under sustainted magical assault from the dragon and various shamans before succumbing to the gundabad assualt. Anyway, onto the pictures. dwarves. So keep your eyes peeled for updates for this, as I am fairly certain I'll be heading back again at some point. |

WOW - that was quick to get it online straight away!!! I must say your use of magic was fantastic... It was good to get a WotR game in as my knowledge is a little rusty! Still I enjoyed it, maybe next time smaller armies it was also a shame Craig was too busy with running the club to fully play - his attention wasn't in the game and I think that showed in some of his decisions. Still let me know when you want another match WotR or SBG. Thanks again |

They were but I decided to re-purpose them as Morannon orcs. They are in the process of being repainted. |

Great battle and I love the basing of the dwarves. That sand/gravel is nice and irregular, maybe Leonardis is willing to tell me how he did that? |

Glue builders course sand to base 2. Paint black 3. Dry brush the base with brown 4. Dry brush with Deneb stone 5. Paint band with brown to tidy 6. Smile - there done! I did the same for my mordor army (only added grass too)! |

Flew down to East grinstead again today with muppetslayer in tow and played a fun game with Leonardis. Twas 1000pts aside with Muppetslayer controlling the evil team (Harad) and myself and Leo splitting the good side 50/50. I had my galadhrim, Leo had Dwarves led by Gimli. Scenario was To the Death (when isnt it ) and the outcome was a 7-4 Victory to the forces of good. This was mainly due to the stubborness of dwarves and their refusal to die. Here we see what is left of my galadhrim, both Rumil and Thranduil fell. Despite being on 1 wound, Gimli evades the attention of the betrayer to slay Suladan over 2 rounds of combat. Galadhrim ready themselves for battle... Pretty sure Leonardis took more photos, hopefully he will share them at some point. |

Great pics folks - maybe a bit more commentary and the 'scores' in terms of both the points and the casualty figures on each side. And any notable outcomes, like some humble warrior slaying a dozen of the opposition. And any amusing anecdotes (there always are, in wargaming). |
