Starting to build up a few of the topics now. Feel quite lucky to have lots of LotR players in the local area.

First up - Link to the album on facebook

The album contains most of the photos taken of all battles as it is the easiest (and quickest) way to get them off my Iphone. The latest pictures are at the end of the album.

Onto the game: Was a 2K doubles game. Myself and muppetslayer V Gondorian Captain and another fella called Tom. We started quite late so only got a couple of turns it but boy it looked good. Well...apart from the hoards of unpainted models *looks at the others* :P

After an hour the club we were at had to close so we called it a draw. Was finely balanced although my KoU on fellbeast was desperatley trying to fly away from pesky galadhrim archers who in one turn took 2 wounds off the fellbeast and made the KoU use both fate points. (he spent the rest of the game hiding behind the woods)

as I said, more pictures on facebook and hopefully gondorian captain can upload his pictures from his camera.

Inspired by one player continuously referring to the Abrakan guard as fat boys.
Elves: 'Who ate all the pies!'

Behold the wrath of Arwen

Hangs head in shame at the unpainted models, am trying to get better.

Yeah was a really good looking game, highlight were probably:
Dol-amroth cavalry massing up for a gigantic charge on the evil right flank
The Knight of Umbar draining Elrond's will before being hit by Galadrim Archers
Elladan and Elrohir simultaneously rolling ones to hit with their bows (guess they are identical)
Aragorn fighting his way into combat with the shaman behind the black shield line early on
The Knight of Umbar transfixing and then charging prince Imrahil to be met by a counter charge of Swan Knights
Arwen Evenstar rescuing the Swan Knight cavalry by casting natures wrath at a crucial moment. An enemy Shade tried to resist it but couldn;t roll a 6 even with 5 will points.

Was very fun and could have gone either way. Looks forward to the next one.

Do my eyes deceive me - are some of those orcs wearing pink? Darkish pink?
Nice to see a good big fight - ok a pity all the minis were not painted but better to have them played with than not have them at all.
Well done folks - maybe you'll get the chance to go 5 or 6 rounds another time.

No dorth, you are not deceived. They are my purple Morannon orcs. The last highlight is warlock purple. I was bored of painting reds and blues so decided to go with a purple themed mordor army. The black guard are mine also.

Good to see more battles! Did it take you long to get there? Might be worth thinking about organising a tournament or huge battle in the new year... There are enough players within an hours drive of us!

About 1.5 hours with traffic. We played a tourney there in August and I'm pretty sure they are planning another one for feb/ march time.

I like the front line, black guards ftw.

Looks like a great battle. I especially like the Amera ruins and rock formations though. I wonder which devillishly handsome, effortlessly charming and phenomenally talented chap painted them...........

Shame I missed that game on Sunday, but yes we are planning to do more SBG events in the new year.

It was all in warbands and the scenario was to the death.
