i recently have started to consider buying the EFGT boxset, but am wondering about what to expect come the second film. will the price be severely reduced, as they have the new set out? will they stop selling it? as well as that, even taking in the rising prices, is EFGT worth it? |

IMO: There probably will be a new starter set and they will probably remove EFGT from the shelves. However, it's entirely possible that either: There's not a new starter set Or They sell EFGT alongside the new starter set. The price will not be reduced whatever happens, they'll either recall it or continue to sell it at the same price. Finally, yes, I think the box is worth it, completely ignoring the huge SBG price hikes over the last two years, £75 for what you get in the box is a fair price. It's a great set. |

G.W.have a policy of never discounting anything! They do still however have a large amount of thee EFGT sets which they will naturally continue to sell. Compared to all there other Hobbit products, EFGT by far gives you the best bag for your buck (if you calculate the cost of the components that are available separately, and compare Thorin's Company in price to the Fellowship, obviously a discount will have to be applied to the scenery). |

They're still selling the "Limited Edition" version of the set so I doubt they will discontinue it until the far future. I really wouldn't expect them to discount it either. It is a great set of figures but you might as well wait and see until the Desolation of Smaug is out to see if we get anything better. |

They still have plenty of 'limited edition' sets going. In fact, i've noticed in the run up to the new film the price has crashed on Ebay and Amazon as people are anticipating a new starter set. I recently grabbed a set off of Ebay for £60 with free postage, I've seen it on Amazon for £62-£68 with free postage as well. Well worth getting now. |

I have emailed about this, they said they will not be making any more and EFGT, they only have a small ammount left. |

I am sure that they will not be making any more but the stores seem to be well stocked! |

I'd take GW saying they still have a 'small amount left' with a massive pinch of salt. More like a shovels worth. They are not going to publically admit that they've got a lot of stock left that they're struggling to get rid of. Which is what all the evidence points towards. It's similar to the Dreadfleet fiasco, where their super-rare limited edition buy it now or it'll be gone in less than 24 hours had only sold three copies in my local store in a month, and could be got hold of for a very reasonable price for at least 6 months after its release. |

Bilbo wrote: They still have at least 2 copies in Lorimers Toy shop Sevenoaks! Aye, it just never got going. AUJ is rapidly going the same way in all the local stores I've visited, and many local independents don't even stock LotR/Hobbit at all. |

I think things may look up with the 2nd film. |

I bought the boxset for £50 including delivery from these guys: http://www.yellowstone.co.uk/shop/Games ... erordcmss3 I was a bit skeptical at first but it came 2-3 days after I ordered it. I'd recommend buying it now as GW will definitely discontinue it, and you get a lot for your money, especially at this price! |
