Orcs, Uruk-hai or Goblins?

I was just wandering which kind of orcs people on hear like the best. I'm not talking gaming wise but you can bring it into it if you want, I was more along the lines of which do you just like for the sake of it. My personal preference is for Orcs.

Uruk-hai are my favorite... Especially scouts...

I love all of them

Goblins mainly because of their spikey armour, and I love the whole idea of a green swarm (but not comical like 40k or fantasy) and their simple armies really are straightforward and fun to game with. (and in the game I like their unique ability to climb walls)

Orcs I love becaues of their varibility and huge choices in their army (both in and out of the game) the different races of orcs and the fact that they are all have different (and also alot of different captains which I really like) armour and skin colour.

Uruks are more of a personal thing, they are just bad ass and I have always liked them, plus they have pikes, i mean really, bloody long pikes! mel gibson would be shameful of his wooden stick he calls a pike.

Scout Uruk Hai, but then again if this was Good Warriors it would be Rangers, i just prefer skirmishing Scout armies.

My preference is Uruks, but Goblins are second, with Orcs 3rd. Reasons? Ease of painting, sculpts, and yes, fighting prowess in the case of the Uruks. I do like some of the old metal orcs though - the new plastic ones are...ok. Goblins, while having similar poses are EASY to paint. 3 basecoats and a wash....done.

Goblins are painted really fast... Uruks are a little more 'time takers'... I don't have paint orc yet...
Also I agree that the old metal ones were awesome...

I know, I played a game with someone a few years ago using my opponent's dad's collection, where we played all evil vs all good. My opponent was aabsolutley positive that the plastic orcs were in fact good guys. This alone, proves how bad they are compared to the cool metal models.

Really? you think so? I am having a terrible time with them. the sculpts are so old I find the detail is not particularly distinct and I have a hard time telling where one color is supposed to end and another begin.

dab of green here, blob of red there, metal on the shield/weapon...black everything else and a wash of devlan mud...it's a gobbo!

What about the hair? The straps holding the leg pieces on and the belt? Do they have bare feet under the greaves or boots? How much of the neck is exposed? These are some of the questions I have never been able to satisfactorily answer on my goblins.

They're goblins - they get removed faster than you can put em on the table

I personally don't worry too much about the rank and file, but I will take the extra time on the character models. Hair, I leave black - maybe a drybrush of codex gray. Not much (if any) neck, probably bare feet, straps I would leave black...
