Hey everyone, I don't know if there's been a topic on this or not but, do you guys think GW will ever make an Elf Lords blister? they made the Kings of Men and Dwarf Kings, so why not make generic Elf Lords? I think it'd be really cool if the did and I'd probably buy them. |

not likely, there will be some more named elf heroes with the Hobbit. |

I don't think they will because all the elves of significance are named. There are kingdoms of Men and Dwarfs that were left unwritten about so generic Kings make sense. I still agree it would be cool though, I just want some more Elves |

I don't think Elf Lords are necessary for the reasons already posted, but further than that there is no need for 70-100 pts heroes in the Elven army lists. What they really need is some 25-60 pts heroes like Beregond/Dunedain. An Elven Veteran or an Elven Battlemaster would be good, with 1/1/1:M/W/F and a fun special rule. |

It would be harder to find an elf that wasn't a veteran than one that was; what with them being all immortal and all. And we already have Elf Captains and Stormcallers. |

However, with Elves already high troop cost, they're really hampered by not having any heroes cheaper than 60pts, and for those adverse to Stormcallers because of playing with a lore accurate army, a captain at 65-80pts - in a typical 1000 point force, to have four warbands with a decent General (Elrond, Gil-Galad, Glorfindel, Twins) you need to have less than 12 warriors in the second two out of the four. |

I don't really like using my Stormcaller either but the option's there. I think us elven players have to accept our troops and heroes are going to be expensive! |

I agree with shieldmaiden a 20-40pt elven hero would be great! A hero that is less than 60pts is needed for the elves to give us some more tactical options. |

The reason they don't have any generic Elf lords is because there aren't any. The elven rulers at the beginning of the 3rd age are the same as the ones at the end of it. For the ~30pt hero, maybe an elf "ranger" (ie an elf who is a one man unit, spends most of his time away from the main cities etc. Like a weaker Gildor.). However, I think that Elves don't really need it. They're armies are defined by being small, but HIGHLY elite. Having cheap heros would counter-act that, making them more like the other factions. The only reason there are factions to begin with is to keep variabilty. |

GW's thrown that out of the window though, by giving Galadhrim access to pikes and better cavalry than the 'Horse-Lords' of Rohan, by giving Dwarves spears, and by lots of other things. It's in the interests of balance. |

They only gave one of the factions of Elves pikes and cavalry, and the only way to givee dwarves spears is to spend 25 pts for the teams. Things can still be balanced, yet each factions can still be very different. |
