Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum, wasn't sure where to post it really! I was just interested in knowing if the "average" Dúnedain ranger (such as Halbarad) had an extended life span like Aragorn, or was it only Aragorn and his ancestors that had the long life span due to being the heir to the throne? Bit of an odd topic I know, but I'm interested in knowing none the less! Cheers! |

I would think it would only be descendants of the kings given long life through Elros (the first numenorian king) being half elf? |

The vast majority of dunedain would have a longer lifespan (though not as long as aragorns), it depends though on how pure their bloodline was (if it mingled with lesser humans). The men of numenor were all blessed with long life however elros had the longest (more than likely because he was half elf). Even many men of Gondor during the earlier parts of the third age had lengthened lifespans until it became common place to mingle with other races of men (this played a factor in one of the civil wars gondor had). |
