My local GW is going to be running an armies on parade competition soon, I assume this is going to be store-wide, so my question is will anyone else be entering this year?

So far most of the signups at my local store are of course space marines so I thought SBG could use some representing! 8)

I will be working on a small mountain scene with some dwarves which I am planning some conversion work on.

Also to get some discussion going, what are everyone's thoughts/experiences on armies on parade in general?

Some year I really will enter a Laketown board. Hirst Arts came out with some molds this summer that would make really great houses. I did want to enter a Rohan Board and I am working on a Rohan farming village, so if it gets done in time, maybe. My Rohan army isn't the best painted; it was my first one.

I'm painting a gundabad army for a client at the moment and think I might make a display board and have a crack at armies on parade.

Please share some pictures if you do get round to it, it would be nice to see how you get on

I'm only going small scale this year (one square foot board!) which is lot more manageable than what I tried last year and I am actually making some good progress

Sure I'll post some pics once I'm done. The army is almost complete now so almost time to start thinking about the display

If anyone was interested in entering this year there is a new website up which has the rules and store finder

Its got a few pictures of previous entries, notably some good shots of a really nice Mirkwood army

Next year, when I might have a little more money to spend on my hobby, I may finally do an entry for AoP. To do the one I want I'd need a Mamuk to start with before the board and everything else.
