Peter Jackson has released his video of Ed Sheeran singing the DoS closing credits song - "I see fire". There is a mixed reaction so far, but I for one love it. But then I am biased as a fan of Ed Sheerans music :)

I saw this last night on my Facebook thread last night. To be honest, I absolutely love it. I can't wait to see how it fits with the themes.

Glad to see the east Anglians still have some talent showing , yes he is from Suffolk , my home county. On the way the song comes across... i liked the first half but second half just seems too..pop like?

Can imagine yourself hearing it as you pile into the human sandwich after the film ends and everyone attempts to leave... yes.

I think it's a decent enough pop song, but it really doesn't feel like middle-earth to me.

The three LOTR songs all blended seamlessly with the orchestral score. Song of the Lonely Mountain worked well because it sounded like a traditional folk tune and it sounded great when sung by the dwarves in the film.

This just feels out of place to me.

What's interesting is where PJ says it was a very last minute job. I wonder if they recorded and scrapped a song by someone else? Seems a bit strange to end up needing someone to write and record a song in such a short amount of time.

I really like the Ed Sheeran sountrack... very nice music... still seems a bit strange having LoTR-y words over a guitar track though.

I believe that was actually Bilbo's song, sung by frodo, but sung by Pippin in the film.

Just imagine if it was by Justin Beaver or Katie Perry!
