Can we rank the Warriors of Middle-Earth, or at least characters we know of in the Third Age to see how they stack up to each other? For example we can probably all rank Glorfindel near the top, but is Gandalf number 2 or joint 1 because he also managed to slay a Balrog? Aragorn is also a great warrior, but is he as good as Legolas? And was Boromir greater than Aragorn but less than Legolas? Is Dain Ironfoot the greatest of the Dwarf warriors or does someone like Thorin or Gimli outfight him? |

Legolas is nowhere near on the same level as Aragorn or Boromir - the Desolation of Smaug movie just really embellishes his skill. |

It's hard to say between, Glorfindel, Celeborn and Elrond for the greatest elf of the Third Age. Narrowing it down, I'd say Glorfindel. He fought Ringwraith's and a Balrog, and he died but was brought back. But then there's Tauriel, who just plain kicks ass and looks good ( ) at the same time. Of men though, it's hard to say Aragorn or Boromir. Aragorn fought the terrors of the North, Boromir fought hordes of Orcs and so many Uruk-hai I must admit, Legolas has no where near Aragorn or Boromir's skill. Gandalf gets my vote for the best wizard, with Saruman being an ass to Gandalf, Radagast is just plain crazy but awesome at being crazy (Rabbit Sled) and the other two wizards not bothering to show up at anytime in The Third Age. Gothmog gets my vote for the coolest Orc, as he was literally rocking The Third Age. #1 Boromir - Because he was epic in the book and kicks ass in the game, and not to forget Sean Bean's epic portrayal of him in the epic films. #2 Gandalf - Because he just can. #3 Tauriel - A little lesson here: never mess with a redhead, particularly this one. #4 Gothmog - Orcs are notable ugly creatures, but this guy beats the bar. That however, hasn't stopped his awesome tactics and battle prowess. He almost successfully sieged Minas Tirith, not alone of course. #5 I am unsure of my fifth warrior. I seem to have come to a block, but anyway, I chose a warrior from each race (except dwarves, because there too many to choose from). |

Easy, Farmer Maggot and his dogs above anything else. Why? They managed to scare the same person who overthrew Sauron himself. Must be amazingly powerful. Besides, he had the respect of Tom Bombadil, who himself may have been a Vala. Can't imagine why anybody would argue otherwise. |

I think even better evidence was that they scared Sam. Sam charged the 5 Ring wraiths at Weathertop, fought Shelob, and charged headlong into Cirith Ungol. So he gets my vote cuz he's incredibly brave (game courage value should b 10, or else give him Bodyguard for Frodo only lol) |

HOBBITS!!!! I forgot Hobbits! How? Anyway, Bilbo was no warrior, but he was awfully brave. He went on an adventure with strangers without realising the sorts of dangers he'd get himself into. Sam gets my vote for courage, as I agree with JamesR. |

1. Glorfindel - killed a balrog, seen as a white light... kinda says it all 2. Gandalf the White - magic.... duhhh 3. Aragorn - killed more than a few orcs in his time 4. Boromir - walking tank 5. perhaps Lurtz/Azog as an unbelievably strong opponent, though could easily be Legolas, saruman, elrond Sam is by far the bravest person in middle earth. |

Bofur the Dwarf: Surely that's stupidity, not bravery? Bravery would be knowing those dangers and doing it anyway |
