Yes, which is great! He had too short screentime in the movie, in my opinion.

Unfortunately PJ seems to have some problems with continuity.. :( An interesting pic I found on the Facebook-page of TheOneRing.net:
I would be ok with explaining the healed (?) eye with Saurons necromancy.. but the changed tattoo? Hmm..

Yeah that is pretty awful. I hadn't noticed the tattoo before but I did think he looked REALLY different. The prosthetics are clearly quite a departure (look at the nose!), part of me wonders if it's even the same actor!

However, I'm not too fussed, I can't quite explain why but this is one of the parts of the films I've been looking forward to since they were first announced. I remember watching the first trailer back at Christmas 2011* and seeing those shots of Gandalf fighting Thrain and getting really excited about it, losing it in AUJ, then the Extended version and then in DOS has been so frustrating - I really can't wait to see how this little scene plays out.

All the extra stuff looks amazing and exactly the sort of scenes I was hoping for, I really can't wait for this to come out and gorge myself on all the extra features for one last Christmas in Middle Earth :-)

*Incidentally I still think the first AUJ trailer is one of the best trailers I've ever seen, whatever you may think of the films, that first trailer absolutely nailed the tone of the Hobbit for me

There is a theory that there may be two dwarves, and that the one pictured who is different is actually the second dwarf, possibly thrain's father? (hence the similarity to thrain...)

Thrain's Father is Thror and Azog would have something to say about the odds of Thror turning up in film 3...

Whoops, total oopsy there. What I read was actually a theory that it could be Nain, Dain Ironfoot's father.

Isn't he supposed to be a lot older? See here; http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/t/thrainii.html
