Good to see you are enjoying your course. I imagine you've got use to the South of England now. I hope you are back up North for Christmas.

The dragon heads are particularly eyecatching - great to see someone enjoying a course of study.
Question: does anyone ever get used to the south of England? Discuss :)

My family has been in Southampton for 200 years. I'm pretty used to it. :)

Sounds like a really congested one-way system. I have heard of the legendary traffic jams in the south of England but wasn't aware that had been going on for that length of time. :P

I prefer The Wild. It matters not in which direction it lies, but it has to be Wild.

The Wild ... here be Dorthies ... lol

No offence to the South Dave, it's just that Drum wants to hear the skirl of the pipes on New Years eve ;-)

P.S - Chris - I like your Christmas avatar - good as usual

I've had a good bit of exploration around england with my friends so I've enjoyed it a lot down here. I've just finished working at Fosters + Partners working in their architectural modelmaking department and it's been great. Living in London is so hectic though!
I had no idea you live in Southampton Dave, was there only a few weeks ago. Will have to pop in one day.

Hi drumstick, I'm on an art foundation at the moment, going into model making next year (hopefully), so was wondering where exactly you are studying? I know Hertfordshire, Bournemouth and Wimbledon all do these courses, but if there is anywhere else know about I would certainly be interested for open days and other such things

cheers

That sounds great, where about are you doing your foundation? The only other two I know of is the 'Modelmaking Design & Digital Effects' in Dublin and the 'Model Making for the Creative Industries' in Glasgow (however this is an HND). I did quite a few opens days and was very close to going to Hertfordshire, but ended up at AUB instead.

thanks, yeah Hertforshire and AUB are the two I'm stuck between at the moment, don't really mind so much either way so I'll just see how the interviews go. There's some bloody impressive stuff at both of them. The art course is in Reading just because It's near to where I live.
