Hi I have recently saw the gloss varnish and I know it's good for jewels but I would like to ask if it would make the mini's armour better and the water more real? Also where else could it be used on minis...

It's also useful for things like glass, but I doubt you'd use that LOTR.

fresh blood :-D I mix varnish, a little PVA glue and some paint, then water down a bit and apply to weapon blades to make them gory.

But I dont think its a good idea for armour. the shiny flakes in the paints make it look fine as metal, and when people do NMM it looks good enough too.

Yes. I have a khazad guard with a bloodied axe, you will have to wait a couple of days or until I work out how to take good photos and then upload them onto photobucket. :)

Found another use for gloss varnish - adding water effects to bases

Just a quick word on using gloss varnish on bases as water effect, Don't layer it on too thick as I have done as it takes FOREVER to dry, I did mine a week ago and its still not dry! Also if your glossing over paint let the paint dry first or it takes even longer!!!!!!

Just wish it would hurry up and dry - its been sat on top of my snake tank for a week - i'm hoping the heat might speed up the drying process.
