I bought an Imperial Primer (GW's primer). Is its consistency supposed to be that of a wash or the primer I bought was somehow damaged? I am asking because if the primer I bought was faulty I will be returning it.

Thank you

Did you shake the can for 2-3 minutes before using?

That's what it sounds like to me...

I have the GW brush-on Imperial Primer and yeah, it's thin. 2 coats should do nicely but you must leave it to dry much longer than you would a spray as it takes longer to "cure".
I tend to use it for the nooks and crannies the spray paint misses.

Oops, I was under the impression that this WAS a spray primer. Disregard my previous post.

So the Imperial Primer is just complementary to the spray? Can it be used by itself?

Thanks for your answers!

Well, having used both...

I believe the black spray is called "Chaos Black Primer" and the stuff in the little bottle is "Imperial Primer"

The stuff has to be shaken for dear life (actually, this applies to both), and be warned, after a while it "clods" together into a thicker goop.

I used my bottle for a number of purposes, including undercoating some of the Reaper miniature "bones" made from a type of PVC, and well...it's ok, I guess. A bit shiny, and the paint adhesion isn't as good as I was used to.

I /really/ miss the old Chaos Black paint (not spray) as both as filler for pre-sprayed things and as a "i am going to undercoat this figure by hand" paint. Still looking for a good alternative.
