And you can use maybe this minis: http://www.artizandesigns.com/prod.php?prod=1165
The ylook quite good and are in scale with the Lotr-Range of GW.

@Advario I think you are confusing Sons of Eorl with Eorl the young...

@ja33, I believe that GBHL James uses the new Captain of Rohan model. Besides those which would be hard to get individually, you could try using Gripping beast Plastic vikings, or Wargames Factory ones... I personally prefer the Gripping beast ones, but both come with bare heads, and axes.

Thanks @Lord Maedhros, those are some good ideas..the Rohan Captain is probably the best idea, but as you said, those guys can be hard to come by...

I was thinking about converting either a Rohan Royal Guard on foot or maybe even just a regular plastic Warrior of Rohan, and then (and Tolkien forgive me !) decapitating the Mines of Moria plastic Boromir and/or Aragorn and using those heads with their long hair and beards which would seem to be a great match for the Sons of Eorl mounted profiles.

Thoughts ? A good idea ? Or maybe not a good match physically or looks-wise ? Or is it just too LOTR blasphemous ? :)

Any suitably armoured Rohan(style) model should be a good start, I'd say a plastic Warrior with some chainmail added on the arms and upper legs would suffice too (actually closer to the mounted models than Royal Guard).
Aside from a hairy helmetless head, be sure to give them an axe and a slightly more impressive shield (you could simply make mould of a mounted model's).
