I like it....but Im thinking it might be a little too in your face for middle Earth.....more for warhammer. I still really like them though, and was considering them for like a wraith, or something evil....idk.

By the way if you guys like this sort of stuff and havent look element games has some awesome bases and a lot of cheap GW stuff and other products.

I think the first one is too much, but the second one is okay. The first one could work with the right miniature on it (maybe Sauron).

Neither are to my taste, but each to their own.

Might fit in with The Hobbit movies though :P

Depending on the figure, I think it could work. If you are doing some First Age stuff with Morgoth's Balrog and Fire Maia minions, then I think the bases could look appropriate.

For normal orcs and so on, I might think they were a little OTT.

Yeah I was thinking for something of the wraith shade etc type, but I did think it was too much. Thanks for the input guys.

And Gene- Lol! Good point.

Not to my taste as well, I'm more a fan of the reserved nature of middle earth to that level of Flamboyance lol

I think the first would actually be great for shades, you could even paint the base as more spirits rather than fire! I don't really think it would work for much else, but for a shade I'd actually say spot on.

Yeah I thought I would paint them green, grey, or blue def not bright colors like that. More subdued stuff.

I could see the first one working well for a balrog or watcher, or, if painted as spirits, as a base for a shade as previously said. I don't like the second one that much.
