How many The lord of the Rings miniatures do you own?

Not even close to finish and I don't think I'll be playing games with many of them by the time I get around to being done. Still love my collection though and don't think that it's a mistake buying it all even though a good 65% of it is unpainted still.

For me I think that a collection is never complete. There's always one more thing out there you need to add and once you get it there's then another thing you need to add.

^That is true, but now the price rise and the switch in material has kinda eliminated that problem for me.

try second handed ones then? they r still great to. Sometimes a bit work to strip them down...

I suspect I have somewhere around 600 or 700 of the things. I think. There's two big, very full cases of them, two GW cases, one huge GW case, some Mithril carry cases, a small carry case, two more drawers of them and a bunch still on the sprue, or even still in blister. Mostly metal.

Not by a long shot. I'd say I'm 50% painted at best. So I'm not overly bothered by slowing down my new purchases significantly.

And some of the armies I do want to build up larger (Isengard, for example, was a good SBG army but I'm pitifully small for WotR) are mostly going to be adding core troops anyway. And Isengard was my first LotR SBG force (I've been a model painter for years and thought they were good at the time but I've improved a bit in the last two years), so I'll probably clean them all down to bare plastic and start them again anyway, so even my "50% painted" is a mater of perspective. :rofl:

Yeah, my collection is far from finished. I still need a whole bunch of Wildmen. Amongst other stuff...

Even my Isengard army is maybe about 10-20% of the Isengard collection... Then there is every other Faction to consider.

While most people who answered this post have less than 1,000 miniatures more people have more than a 1,000 than have less than a 100. I would guess that more people with lots of miniature play and collect.
Who has all of the models?*

*I don't mean the unreleased models although I have not given up on them.

I collect and paint, but don't play. I probably have over 1000 models - I haven't counted. 90% are yet to be painted :shock:

I'm in this for the long haul! I decided a couple of months ago to try to get as many minis as I could in metal and complete my collection to beat further price rises. Although, I rarely buy straight from GW - the prices in Oz are ridiculous. I went hunting on Ebay and would say 80% of what I have came from there. You can score some pretty good deals - I purchased an uruk hai battering ram with crew for A$5, metal models of Gimli and Legolas for less than $2 etc. Most of the stuff I have bought would have been at least half the cost of getting it from GW or a hobby shop. Now, on with the painting....................
