I have seen so many cool looking jewels on figures and have yet to be able to get mine to look like what I've seen...can anyone give me some advice or a really good tutorial to help me? Example: The jewel on this model's belt |

I have a feeling that's done with airbrushing, I'm not sure though. I have no experience in this area so I'm afraid I can't say much. Hope you get what your looking for. Drum |

Basically paint the jewel a base colour, leave some black at the top, and highlight from the bottom up. Then add a dot of white at the top in the black to add a reflection point, and gloss varnish. |

A gloss varnish might be why my attempts look like Devlan Mud...thanks brother! |

It probably wouldn't give you the same effect, but I've always been happy with the results I get from using the Testors colored metallics - I've found red, green, and blue to look perfect on 25mm minis. |
