I'm going to try and convert my Uruk scouts without shields (and a few with bows) into Feral Uruks by adding 2-Handed Axes. As you can imagine, this requires a lot of arms to be repositioned (24 at the least, for 3 coys), which is someting I haven't done before and dare not do without tips on how to make it look good, mostly about filling the holes that will be created in the process.

If someone (or several someones :) ) could help me out on this, i'd be most grateful.

Do you mean a weapon in each hand like the existing feral models or one axe being held with both hands?

Just an axe held with both hands, hate everything about the current Ferals :-X . (Hence this project :D )

The fact that these models are plastic will make things that much easier. Fortunately the arms of the unshielded scouts are away from the body, so removing them at the shoulder will be simple enough. The hands will probably need cutting off at the wrist so that you can twist them in line with the opposite hand. If you need to bend an elbow, cut or file a 'V' shape on the inside which will allow you to bend the arm. Not much I can suggest with the gap filling. It's just a case of blending the putty into the shape of the area it is replacing.
I don't know if you've seen the Uruk scout with two handed axe I did for DMS? It might help you out a little.

Using a plasti-weld glue is a good step too. That'll help fill in gaps (to an extent) and can give a much more solid bond on plastic models than superglue can.

I saw the scout, one of the best models I ever saw, both the sculpting and the painting. not sure what you mean about the V-shape though...

Plasti-weld is the kind of glue that melts the plastic, right? I always use it, when I can (for some reason Revell plastic glue won't glue Revell plastics :? )

Take a look at this article - pictures 2 & 3. It shows a knee joint but the principle is the same for an elbow.
