I've only been collecting figures for a few months, but I already have a mountain of surplus 25 mm bases and I'm sure you good people are in the same situation. The only thing I can think of is to use them as markers for various scenario specific things, like hidden troops, traps etc etc etc. What do you use surplus bases for? Discuss! |

I just keep them in a box. Sometimes if I buy or trade models through eBay or forums the minis I'm receiving are missing bases so I just use them on those. |

DMS and Red Corsairs, you are so unimaginative. . I use them as unit fillers, and also, as you suggested for markers. You could also save them for when you want to sculpt your own models, or base other companies' minies that don't come with 25mm bases. Oh, and you could sculpt spider broodlings on them. The possiblities are endless, well no, not really, but you get the picture. |

I use them as bases for the GW trees. They fall over all the time otherwise, which is really annoying in the middle of a battle. |

Very nice objective marker, DMS! One that I made for Numenore: (sorry the picture's so big, I don't know how to link the thumbnail version) I've included one more marker pic of mine in this post, but I'll leave it to you to figure out where & what it is. |

Both the Rohan and Numenorean one look great! Bases are good for objective markers and for special scenarios. I will definetly keep them. If one day you decide to expand to a new miniature range, they may not be accompanied with decent bases so in comes in your surplus! I got into WW2 and i wanted them to have bases and now i have a shortage! |

Well, if you can see it, there's this little, tiny round thing in the middle of the base. I didn't figure it so at the time, but it leaves me perfectly positioned for the upcoming Hobbit movie. It's an OM of the One Ring. What have you got in your pocketses? |

Sorry to necromance this thread, but I figured I'd show you guys what I ended up doing. A study of bases! I decided to not have one kind of base for each fig, but make their bases represent where they come from. This really helped, and was a lot of fun to do as well! |
