Post subject:  How do i paint these elven cloaks?

Hello,
I wanted to paint my elven army as on this picture (well, i want to try :-) ) but i cant really figure out how i should go about painting the silverish cloaks (outside of the cloaks) as on this picture. Anybody got any advice regarding painting cloaks in this manner? Would be much appreciated!

(sorry if the picture isnt 100% clear but i think you'll get the idea (picture comes from the Legions of ME book)

Well, it could be grey that is drybrushed with boltgun metal, or boltgun metal that is washed with a black wash(ink or badab black) or it could be ametalic paint mixed into another color ro make it look satin.

Yes Jobu is correct, I remember using a mix of boltgun metal with a hint of green highlighted up. It feels weird at first but you get used to painting armour coloured cloth ;)

I recommend creating your own paint scheme as it is your army, I know at first I also wanted to replicate GW models but as you get more confident you experiment with paints more. I personally use a mix 3:1 of snot green and dark angels green (not sure with new paints, would check conversion chart) as I paint all the cloaks the same way to familiarise the army with a similarity between all units (in this case green cloaks).

However when first starting I found this a useful guide for painting high elves
