I guess this could be considered help with minis So those pikes on the uruks are ridiculously long and I'm a bit worried about the size of cases for them. Any advice on cases? |

I have a small feldherr case, the pikes are perfectly save in there, the pikes I put in there are from my men at arms of Dol-Amroth though, so a bit tougher then plastic. |

I've been succesfully carrying my Uruk pike men around in a Battle Hive: http://crystalcaste.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CC&Category_Code=BH The initial investment is quite much, but since you can tailor the foam inserts to match your models and get extra inserts, it's a really nice system. Would probably survive a nuclear detonation. -- Pasi |

Looks kinda.. bulky. But much sturdier than my feldherr case. What about the monster cases from GW? |

I put them in a regular infantry tray from KR. I just cut a little slit in the foam so the pike goes into the next compartment, but doesn't move around (doesn't scratch up the other model). |

I've just used the normal GW cases. The pikes just rest over the foam, as you can see in the picture. |

I've switched to KR cases. The ability to order custom tray sets to suit your collection and the pick-and-pluck trays is great. My LoTR cases are standard GW cases with KR foam and they have 2 trays holding 50 infantry each and one 50mm pick-and-pluck for cavalry/trolls/bats etc. You just can't fit that amount of stuff in with regular GW foam. The KR foam itself is great, it's protected my minis from bumps and knocks at one 40K ToS and a couple of local WHFB tournies. |

I reccommend Figures in Comfort. They have a huge range of Canvas and hard plastic or metal cases in a wide range of sizes. And on their website you can design your own case, picking the material and size of the case, and the shape and size of foam inserts even down to individually selecting different layers. I think they may also do customised foam inserts. |

I let my pikes rest on the foam at first to, but i broke some like that so i made some small cuts in the foam. |
