Post subject: | Hobbits |
Hi all I'm looking for 10mm Hobbits. I have seen mostly the Fellowship hobbits but I want as many different looking hobbits as possible that don't have weapons. I'm making a model of the shire in 10mm scale, any help would be great. Also if there are other beings without weapons that would fit, that would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

If by 10mm Hobbits you mean that they are that small in the 28mm scale, then i know something. GW produces a set of hobbits in which three (or 2 if you count a woman swinging an umbrella as a weapon) of 4 hobbits are unarmed. the armed one is a hunter with a horn. |

Other than buying all of the different ranges of 'fellowship hobbits' and removing the weapons... - As Hill-Troll mentioned, you could get the set of 4 'shire' hobbits - Get the multiple hobbit figures that aren't 'fellowship' such as sheriffs/militia - For a shire diorama farmer maggot and his hounds are a must - Not sure how big the Tom bombadil figure stands up to hobbits but he might work too. - http://store.warlordgames.com/collections/ancient-britons/products/ancient-celts-civilians this link is for Warlord games civilians that includes 3 children...they should be of similar hobbit scale. - Get some 28mm animals - As there aren't that many types of figures you could set the diorama as the Shire under attack by Sharkey/bandits or just orcs. This may give it more character and better chance for individual 'animations/set pieces' within the diorama as a whole....Unless you specifically want to do the normal peace time Shire then ignore that haha I hope this helps |

I'm actually looking at being in 10mm scale, not Hobbits at 10mm in size, so they would actually be about 5mm and the other characters at 10mm if that makes sense. Thanks for the responses. Maybe you guys could add links to 10mm Hobbits or shire looking folk (halflings) |

I'm looking at everything being in that scale so the hobbits would be much smaller than that. Could you send some links that have the shire hobbits, sheriffs/militia, farmer maggot, tom, the shire under attack. If that doesn't work I was thinking n scale figurs from woodland scenic then using 28mm for the other characters? What is a good place to get the 28mm LOTR figures if this wont work. |

10mm = N scale Model rail road. There are lots of animals and all kind of accessories available. I can see why you would want to use that scale. I am not aware of any suitable Hobbit figures. Try http://theminiaturespage.com/ http://theminiaturespage.com/lib/def.mv?id=scale http://theminiaturespage.com/man/search.mv |

Copplestone Castings do a range of 10mm scale fantasy figures and it includes a few halflings... http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/ra ... ?range=FAN They are pretty small, since the human figures are 11 or 12mm tall. |

At such a tiny scale, I would guess 6mm humans would pass as 10mm hobbits just fine, too. Baccus 6mm does historical minis, and might have some that would pass for hobbit civilians in 10mm scale. I think there's a Celt/Germans civilian pack. |
