Arrgh!

Having a lot of trouble assembling my plastic models lately. The two-hand weapons on my Grimhammers where you have to connect the arm to its hand on the weapon is killing me! Just when I get it right and try to move my hand away, it is stuck to my hand and comes off! Any tips for assembling just plain plastic without it being a stress?

It sounds like you're using super glue here. Try some plastic glue, it won't stick to your fingers and it melts the plastic itself so the bond is stronger.

I had a similar problem with Palace Guard, just be patient and hold it in place with a little pressure and as Lord Hurin said make sure you use Plastic Glue, super glue tends to be slippery on plastic when I've used it.

Another option would be pinning. My hands tremble dreadfully when I try to hold a thing in place for any period of time, so these days I drill into nearly all of my miniatures. It's not nearly as time intensive as it seems, and the result is practically idiot proof.

Another option (because who wants to wait) is very carefully applying plastic and super glue. Then rather than holding the hand or other tiny piece you're trying to glue down, you use a pair of needle-nose pliers to hold it in place

Use less glue, it is not curing fast because you have more than you need (I am betting). you can wipe off any excess glue before putting the parts together and there should not be any bleeding out of the seam onto your fingers at all (if there is then you are applying too much glue and to too much area). You can also put the glue on a paper clip and use that like a wand to put glue only where you want and spread it across evenly on a surface before putting the surface into contact. If this isn't working, perhaps you need to clean the surfaces and also take a micro file to them just enough to give texture for the glue surface (great for metals). with Testors, Citadel, and even Zap A Gap, there should only be a few seconds before you can set it down to cure alone.

Yeah the Grim Hammers are tough, so far I only have 10 assembled out of 24, have the same problem as you, I guess I'll try plastic glue
