Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the finecast version of Sauron? I was debating between getting that or seeing if i could grab one off ebay. Thanks! |

I've got a FC Sauron. The mace head is pretty badly miscast, but since I got it second-hand I can't get a replacement from GW |

I have the finecast sauron he is fine no problems anywhere however Isildur and elendil were nearly half missing and covered in bubbles beyond repair. In hindsight I should have complained but I ended up buying a cheap metal version of Isildur and elendil |

I got mine finecast from GW. The cast was fine except for a bubble directly over the one ring and most of the hand naturally I took it back and they replaced it without a fuss. If you're buying finecast id recommend opening it in store or in your car before you leave just to check the quality so you can take it back right then. When buying off ebay id say stick to metals, the quality is much more consistent , especially with the Lord of the Rings line, unless of course its a great price, then you can overlook any fine cast flaws. |

I've only bought 3 Finecast packs, Gondor and Mordor Commanders and Mauhúr, the former two both contained defective models. I was able to keep the defective models and they gave me a full refund. |

I am so glad I got metal Sauron when he was released all those years ago. No problems with the parts in those days, and sadly it makes me very nervous of getting any finecast stuff at all (I do have a few but not many). |

you might be able to score a cheap second hand metal one off e-bay, but make sure to look if the spikes on the back of the helmet are included. here is a listing of a metal one but the spikes are missing http://www.ebay.com/itm/Games-Workshop- ... 1e86d13399 |

I'd also advocate getting the metal one. I recently filled that particular hole in my collection and I'm blown away by the detail. He's also much smaller than I'd expected (though I'm not sure why.) I'd be very wary about getting a "Fine"cast one, as there are so many potential problems with miscasting on him. Don't forget that he was in production as a metal mini for around a decade. There are many floating around out there, it's just a matter of patience. |

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm not in any hurry to get a hold of one so I will keep my eyes peeled for a good metal one on ebay. Finecast seems like it might just be too risky. |
