Hey guys, I'm having a bit of a predicament when it comes to Thranduil. I can't find the older metal locally, so I was thinking of just using the Desolation of Smaug miniature to represent his profile from the Free Peoples book. Is the new profile any different? Would anyone have an issue with me using the new model with the old rules?

The new profile is the same but with the armour and elf bow as options rather than wargear (but options you should always take), and he is 10pts cheaper because of this.

I don't think any sensible person would have an issue with the armour (who knows what he's wearing under his coat thingy), but the bow might be different, but I personally wouldn't mind. How hard is it really to take a bow from a high elf or someone and glue it to his hand or back though?

I don't think many people would mind you using the new model for the old profile, the armour isn't an issue as quite what constitutes armour is subjective. The bow might be a bigger issue though, as Lord Elrond said it's not that hard to blue-tac a bow and quiver to his back.

Personally I wouldn't mind in the slightest, if you've got a Lothlorien list and are using the new model then I know he has a bow. The really important thing is that you have to pay the full 90 points for him. You can't take the 80 point Thranduil from the DOS book and have him leading Free People's troops.
