I bought some the easterling heros amdur, Dargon knight, war priest. All mounted about a 9 months ago. I still have the receipt and today I finally opened the clams and inspected them.

The dragon knight looks the worst with a big gap in his sword and the crest thing on his back a mess and the head guard on his horse is bent over one eye.

Amdur doesn't look that bad apart from the breast plate for his horse. It just doesn't look right the armour patern doesn't match, there seems to be a solid line sitting on top of the armour that shouldn't be there. The foot version is fine though.

The war priest has the same problem with breat plate on the horse but insted the armour just turns to smoosh at the mould line. You can see how it looks good than slowly turns blah above the leg. There are also some tiny holes in the cloak that should not be there (not pictured).

I plan on going back to the store and returning the dragon knight and getting a replacment but I am not sure about the other two. Am I just being far too picky? I want some other opinions please.

Also what What happens to the old model when you return them do you keep them or does the store take them?

What would you do?

It's a misaligned mold- you're not being too fussy, it's rubbish quality. These things aren't cheap, and you're entitled to expect that they're near enough to perfect that you'll be able to scrape off mould lines in minimal time and with a minimum skill set.

Despit the moaning about gw, there return policy is actually quite generous. If you still have your receipt I'll bet you will be able to work something out with them. My friend won a second hand, finecast gandalf the white on ebay, once the mini arrived he found that it had been miscast. My friend called up gw and they replaced it right away. Despite the prices, my experience with gw customer service has been all aces.

I would definitely return these. Generally speaking, anything that can't be fixed will be happily replaced by GW customer services. They can be quite understanding when it comes to this sort of thing.

Believe it or not but that "solid line sitting atop the armour" is supposed to be there. It's part of the original mold used on the metal Khandish Chieftain's horse that was reused. That's part of the sculpt, it the reins but in extended 2D rather than 3D.

I was going to say this. Quite a few models have it on the horse armour.
That said the sword alone is worth returning the lot for. :)
