Alright, not to alarm anyone, this is just picking a mini, lol

As some of you may know, I am forming a Silmarillion themed army.

The main leader is going to be Fingolfin.

Here is my current proxy for him:

and a pic of a company all together

The only thing is though, the more I look at all of the models of the "Last Alliance" themed armor and such, the weirder this model looks together amongst the rest.

So, I did a little research, and I really like these two models as a good representation of a Fingolfin leading his fellow Noldor on.
1. GW's Armored Celeborn: A nice pose.

2. Hobbit Range Mounted Elrond: I also like the thought of this mounted mini amongst "on foot" miniatures.

So, my question is, and I really want outside feedback to help me make up my mind. Which model do you guys think I should go with as a proxy for Fingolfin?
A. Stay with the current Dark Swords Miniatures model
B. GW's Celeborn
C. Hobbit Range Mounted Elrond?

Dark Sword

Stick with Dark Sword or find another appropriate 25mm elf outside GW so that when others look on your army in public they won't say, "Hey that's a nice take on Elrond and the elves from 2nd age!"

It would be grate if you can find new elf models altogether that fits into the scale and realism of the GW Lotr line.

I usually don't like proxies from other companies but that Dark sword mini just fits vary well.

Your current one is better than most of what gw offers for that.

Whose stats will you use for him?

I'm not even sure I will be using these guys for gaming haha. Haven't even thought about it. I just want to build up and paint a nice coherent 1st age elven army. Maybe one day, when I finish this project (in like 10 years) I may look to play, but by then, I doubt anyone will be playing.

I sure most of the "the Official tournament" crowd will be long gone. I have be gaming for 40 years. It is much easier for me to find gamers willing to play LOTR than ever.

Keep the current model for sure ! It's perfect for Fingolfin, in my opinion...

And you did such a nice paint job on him as well :)

Can you still move the model a bit on the base? Look at the first photo, when the base is not perfectly horizontal, he's looking very good. On the diorama, in which the base is horizontal, his pose is really weird, like inviting everyone to shoot an arrow at his belly. If you can lean him a bit forward, he's probably going to look more natural.

He is actually on a cavalry base with the banner bearer, which can be moved. I'm actually going to be removing them and stripping them for a new paint job. Next time I do position them on the base, I will keep your words in mind.
