Im having a bit of a Dilemma, kinda hoping for some help......

Out of the two following, who would you use to lead a warband of Fountain court Guard???
Captain of Minas Tirith on a horse with Lance and Shield....... OR
King of men with Armoured Horse, Heavy Armour, Lance and a shield?

Theres a twenty point difference between the two but for that twenty points the King gets F5 over Cpt F4, He automatically has higher Courage and obviously the armoured horse would be harder to kill, plus he has one more will point. Is that worth Twenty points for those things?

Plus I have an idea for an awesome Mounted king conversion, lol

yes king for the points is always worth it... take him for better stuff in general :)

I like the king. But, cirion is better, in my opinion.

What more motivation do you need? Go for the King!

Besides, F5 plus an armoured horse are well worth it, and while the extra Will won't last long against even a single Nazgûl, it may well postpone the damage for another turn.

A King of Men would be the most fluffy I think.

My impression is that the Fountain Court Guards are the remnant of an old order of Gondorian Royal Guards. With no Kings to guard, they instead await the return of the king, and meanwhile guard the White Tree of Gondor (a symbol of the Kings of old) and the city in general, but do not answer to the Steward.

Or you could convert a Fountain Court guard into a Captain, and call him the "Captain of the Guard" or something.

-Cut the left hand off the spear and attach it to the left arm (very fiddly).
-Glue a shield to the arm.
-use clippers and a knife to remove the open right hand (where the butt of the spear goes).
-clip off a sword and hand from another model (Warrior of MT) and drill & pin it to the wrist of the right arm.

And then give it a unique colour scheme to further differentiate the Fountain Court Captain from the rest of the "Guard".

For 20 points extra I'd go for the King Steve. Looking forward to seeing this conversion in a battle report or at DoS 2.0.

The most competitive would be Forlong the fat on horse. 5 Points more than a captain -1V +1S +1H +1L.
But because you want to lead FCG I'd go for the King. He'll look way better and thematically he can represent a nobleness of Gondor (instead of a King).

Forlong isn't in the Gondor list regardless.
