As I've been delving further and further back into the game, I have been changing lists quite frequently to match play style and themes I enjoy.

That being said, would it be considered too much on the power gaming front ( giving dwarves spear support, and more bows/ cav), my group doesn't care either way and do so frequently) but I personally like stories to go along with my armies

I know that the Dunedain did indeed help who they could, did they commonly find themselves near Dwarven lands or supporting them ?

Was their any instances of Elves and dwarves working together in the war of the ring?

And lastly I know from way back when in the Rotk source, they used Rohan as stand ins for dale troops since they had no rules until the recent hobbit releases, would that still be exceptable?

Thanks all for any and all help

I'd honestly say look back into the lore and find a location in middle earth and say for example dwarves on a trek and rangers crossed paths. The dwarves came under attack and the Rangers stepped in to help them.

Toying with a few ideas rough draft I came up with thus far

Balin ( Durin's Axe )
- 6 x Khazad Guard
- 4 x iron guard

Arathorn
12 x Rangers ( spears)

2 x Dunedain ( spears)

1 x Ranger of the north ( spear)

30 points left

Thoughts ?

While I am not adept with lists, I can at least tell you I know of one instance when the Rangers and the Dwarves fought together: the Angmar War. The Dwarves sent a contingent from Moria (which, at that time, was under their control) to fight in the battle of Fornost, alongside forces from Lindon, Rivendel, Gondor, and the remnants of Arnor. Other than that, I will not be much help...

That's actually quite awesome to hear! I knew of gondor and elves and the remains of Arnor returning to crush Angmar, but didn't know the dwarves had any part

My evil army is actually moria/ angmar so this doubly good to hear, and might lend to quite the mixed force thematically for me. Thanks

I would take out the Dunedain, and replace them with Rangers of the North.

Theres +2 points. Then I would give them all horses which is another 10 points.

You still have 10 left over, but with the weird point spread on the list, thats the best I can do besides switching the list up.
