Looking for lots of feedback! I haven't played for a while so I'm wondering how this sounds to everyone.

Faramir
Madril
Captain of Minas Tirith w/ shield
Beregond
Peregrin, Guard of the Citadel
6 Citadel Guards w/ spears
9 Osgiliath Veterans w/ shields
12 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields
12 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields and spears
6 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ bows
10 Rangers of Gondor

10 Might

I would drop either Beregond or Peregrin (maybe both), and swap Madril for Cirion. Otherwise it looks good. 8)

Ok, here's the latest version. (Not completely sure about the knights.)

Faramir w/ Heavy Armor
Cirion
9 Osgiliath Veterans w/ shields and spears
8 Osgiliath Veterans w/ shields
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields and spears
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ bows
10 Rangers of Gondor
6 Knights of Minas Tirith

I think the list looks pretty solid. I would keep the knights in there just for some extra mobility and hitting power. There are few times that I don't take some cavalry if I have a viable cavalry option to take.

I don't think it's worth the extra points for the Citadel Guard and Osgiliath Veterans, I'd swap them for more Warriors of Minas Tirith. I'd get a banner bearer, a mounted one would be best.

I like the banner idea, and you're right that I have too many veterans lol. So...

Faramir w/ Heavy Armor
Cirion
10 Osgiliath Veterans w/ shields
8 Knights of Minas Tirith w/ shields
1 Knight of Minas Tirith w/ banner
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields and spears
10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ bows
10 Rangers of Gondor

I'm with the General on the veteran thing. I don't see them worth it. I would think about maybe dropping a few knights and picking up some more foot troops. But I'm a big fan of a infantry swarms...

Myself I think the Osgiliath Veterans could be very good as you have Faramir so he could effectively be your banner for your foot troops (well, most of them). Recently I've found banners have been letting me down rather a lot but that's just me. I would be very tempted to take Boromir in that list just to give it the extra kick of might which Gondor often needs. However I don't know if taking Boromir would be the wisest desicion.

I was thinking about Boromir myself, but I decided I would go for additional soldiers over additional Might. I know exactly what you mean about the banners, so I am unsure whether or not to give up a couple WoMT and get a mounted Captain instead.

Alright, here's my newest idea. The one thing I don't like about it is getting rid of 5 infantry. Maybe dropping a knight or two would be a good idea...

Faramir w/ heavy armor
Cirion
Captain of Minas Tirith w/ shield, horse, and lance
9 Osgiliath Veterans w/ shields
8 Knights of Minas Tirith w/ shields
9 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields
9 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields and spears
9 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ bows
9 Rangers of Gondor w/ spears

I would think about dropping down to 5 (or 6 at most) cavalry and picking up some more foot troops. Probably just some more WoMT.

10 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ shields and spears
9 Warriors of Minas Tirith w/ bows

It seems a good enough list but personally I'd consider swapping in Beregond for Cirion. Yes he's weaker but wheras Cirsion is simply a combat hero, Beregond is more useful in keeping your men on the battlefield. With a courage value of 3, men have a 50/50 chance of staying or fleeing when it comes down to taking courage tests. If you gave Beregond the honour of bodyguarding Faramir and then placing him with the archers, as long as Faramir remained on the board your arches could continue to fire in to battle (not to mention his S3 bow).

The addittional points could also be used to purchase a banner for the knights of Minas Tirith, the chances are they'll get in combat maybe a turn or two ebfore your infantry, or maybe engage the enemy far away from infantry support, in which case a re-roll would be a darn sight useful.

your latest list seems good, the banner for the knights was a bit of a luxury...

what tactics do you have for your army?

there is one that i like: (dont have a name for it)

split your combat foot soldiers into 2 groups, and have each group start together, but when you near the enemy they spit apart and attack the flanks. the cavalry are going to be hidden behind the soldiers untill they split apart, which is where the cavalry will charge down the middle through the gap and attack the enemy

or another simpler one

have a one big block of foot soldiers, it will advance with the cavalry behind. when the enemy is near, the soldiers will all move to the left or right and attack that flank, while the cavalry do the opposite

all the while the archers will be making a nuisance of themselves for both tactics

or (if the terrain is good enough to provide protection) you can have the cavalry take a longer route all the way round behind the enemy...

just some ideas :)
