Battle of helms deep is my favorite part of all 3 films and ever since i started playing lotr ive had a uruk-hai army. Me and my dad are gonna build a model of helms deep soon and I just finished adding up and stuff and i have 2 armies for the battle. (and i think i know the book says 1500 point for the battle but i want to do a bigger battle) Good: 1 theoden(w/heavy armor, and shield)- 75 1 gamling- 50 1 captain of rohan(w/heavy armor, and shield)- 55 2 rohan banners- 62 6 royal guard(throwing spears)- 72 8 warriors of rohan(w/shields)- 56 8 warriors of rohan(w/bows)- 56 8 warriors of rohan(w/throwing spears)-64 24 elf warriors(w/elf bows, heavy armor, and elven blades)-288 24 elf warriors(w/heavy armor, and elven blades)-240 22 elf warriors(w/heavy armor, shields, and spears)-264 1 Aragorn(w/armor)-180 1 gimlie- 90 1 legolas- 95 1 haldir(w/elf bow, and armor)- 80 2 elf captains(w/elf bows and heavy armor)-160 1 elf captain(w/heavy armor)-75 1 elf banner- 44 2006 points, 113 models, 24 might, and 36 shots Bad:(im still kind of working on this idk what the points of siege ladders and a battering rams are) 1 uruk-hai captain(w/heavy armor and shield)- 60 1 uruk-hai captain(w/heavy armor and 2 handed sword)- 60 2 uruk-hai banners- 78 1 isengard troll- 105 11 uruk-hai berserkers- 165 12 uruk-hai warriors(w/crossbows)- 132 35 uruk-hai warriors(w/shields)- 350 35 uruk-hai warriors(w/pikes)- 350 2 uruk-hai siege assult ballistas(w/super construction and uruk-hai engineer captains)- 330 2 uruk-hai demolition teams- 160 (which leaves 210 points for ladders and a battering ram as soon as i find their point values ill add em in. and if any of you guys know how much the ladders are worth please tell. im gonna put 12 of them in the army) 1790 points ,102 models, 8 might, 12 shots what do you guys think? |

i think that ladders and battering rams are free. not sure about that though. |

It sounds like a great battle you're planning there. However, I'm pretty sure that the attacker is supposed to get 2-3 times as many points as the defender to spend on their army as the defender has his castle to help them survive. If both sides have 2,000 points, the evil side will be at a huge disadvantage I think. |

i agree with that. the attackers will need at least 5 thousand points if the defenders have 2000. |

o ok so it would be a good idea to give the good 500 more points and then make the bad 5000? |

5,000 is waaaaaaaay too much! The castle isn't such an advantage! Too many elves on the Rohan side and not a single rider! Are you planning on doing the charge of Eomer and Gandalf as well? There should still be some riders for when Theoden and Aragorn charge out of HD. If good is 2,000 then evil should only be about 3,000 max. |
