Hey guys here is a list for SBG I made up and I was wondering if it was any good. I havent played at this points level before so Im not sure. Khamul (armoured horse) 1 easterling captain with shield 1 Easterling warrior with banner 21 Easterling Warriors ( 8 with shield, 6 with shield and spear, 7 with bow) Allied Suladan on Horse 9 Haradrim Raiders with war spear 34 units, , 7 bows, 7 might, 601 points C&C welcome, I am new at this army building thing. |

The first list is better IMO, though, it goes over the limit of warriors for 600 in LoME. I would drop two Haradrim warriors and the hasharin for Suladan on horse as you need a leader for the cavalry. Also, Khamul really needs at least a horse to work efficently. And some more cavalry would be very nice, maybe some more raiders (5 isn't really that much) or some Kataphrakts. |

? At 600 points the limit is 75 models. Though you are 2 points over... I also like the first list better. You're low on might, so you'll have to rely on Khamul to neutralize heroes. |

In another thread it said that the max model count for 500-999 or something was 50. |

No one is willing to help me. Is my list that horrible? |

Having only 34 models in 600 points is a real problem. You probably don't need the Easterling captain, and 9 raiders is a lot, but the real problem is using two 100+ point heroes. At 500 points you generally can use a mid-level hero and a minor hero. At 600 you might take a major hero and a minor hero, or two mid level heroes. That's just a rough idea, of course... On a different note, I find it helpful when people post major army changes in a new post rather than editing the original. Otherwise the responses to the original make no sense. Hope that helps... |

Thanks whafrog, i see what you mean about the heroes and the numbers. Ok so how about the following: 1 Khamul (armoured Horse) 135 1 Easterlings Captain w/ shield 55 1 Easterling Warrior with banner 32 34 Easterling Warriors (14 w/shield, 8 w/spear and shield, 12 w/ bow) 288 6 easterling kataphracts 84 594 points, 43 units, 12 bows, 4 might That just leaves me with low might count. The captain is mostly there for the extra might points. Maybe i should swap out khamul for someone else. What do you think? Maybe an unnamed wraith and amdur as the leader, or leave khamul and add a castellan of dol guldur as ally? C and C welcome. |

Amdur is a banner, you might get more mileage out of him than the captain + banner. A cheap wraith to neutralize heroes, or a war priest to provide fury and the strength boost keeps it all in the easterling camp. Looking back through the other responses you had some Harad models in mind, and maybe you like them in the theme. Do you have all these models yet, or are you building the army so you can plan your purchases? |

So far I only have a box of Easterlings and yeah I am building an army list so I can plan my purchases. So basically any suggestions/changes are welcome, though I would like to keep a Easterling base. I guess I should have made that clear from the start. Right I have decided to scale down to 500 points for now and work from there. So here is a list I got: THis one include Far Harad, mostly cause i like the models, and I think they make a cool addition to an Easterling force. 1 Amdur 100 28 Easterlings (12 w/shield, 8 w/shield and spear, 8 w/bow) 240 Allies: 1 Mahûd Tribemaster w/ shield, war spear, camel - 76 4 Mahûd Raiders w/ war spears 84 34 units, 8 bows, 5 might (I think), 500 points exactly I took Amdur, cause as whafrog said he can double as captain and banner and he ends up being only a little more expensive OR 1 Easterling Captain with shield 55 31 Easterlings (13 w/shield, 8 w/shield and spear, 10 w/bow) 240 Allies: 1 Mahûd King w/ shield, war spear, camel - 91 4 Mahûd Raiders w/ war spears and blowpipes 88 37 units, 10 bows, 4 might?, 498 points I also wanted to ask, are the Mahud Raiders worth the points, they seem pretty good, but they are expensive. C&C welcome. |

Check out this recent thread it might be useful if thinking about Mahud: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewto ... &view=next Raiders are expensive, but potent. "Are they worth it" is a tough question because it depends how you use them. You might find the king a better deal than the tribemaster considering the Warrior Pride rule. |

Thanks whafrog. I think i like the second list better. Gives me a higher unit count. I think I'll keep the mahud raiders, thogh if i switched to haradrim raider and serpent guard I could prolly get another 6 units, but I like the mahud raiders better and want to include some cavalry in my force. My only concern is will I need a banner for the Easterlings? |

I think the second list is better too. As for banners, lots of people like them, and lots seem to get by just fine without. I always forget to use it, so I hardly ever bother so it's really a matter of taste, and whether you think it's worth losing a raider + warrior Where I would be more likely to take a banner is with a "pure" army, like 500 points of dwarves with Gimli as the only hero, because you don't need to spend points on an allied hero. |

Yeah thats pretty much what i had planned, I think it should work well with the 2 attacks of the raiders and the impaler rule. |
