Hi everybody. Since a year ago i'm collecting a Isengard army to play against my little brother. The problem is that he does the same thing. And it isn't fun to play Isengard vs Isengard, so what good army should be the most fun to paint and the most fun to play against Isengard. |

It really depends on what kind of an army you like. I wouldn't myself choose an army completely to counter another. |

I was planning on collecting a good army anyway. But i think i like a army with rare units, or a army that has i great variation of units. |

If you have a lot of money to spend, then fiefdoms could be the army for you just be wary as all the infantry are metal. Otherwise, you could go for Gondor but Gondor tends to get owned by Isengard. |

Rohan is fun to play. And they can own Isengard. |

Dwarves have plenty of variataion and doesen't fare too badly against Isengard. |

If money is an issue, your best bet is probably dwarves, since you can make a viable army with a couple of boxes of plastic warriors, plus a hero like Balin or Gimli. It's then easy to build on with a few blisters of Iron and Khazad Guard, a Shieldbearer, Kings Champion and a command blister. If you're feeling tricksier than your opponent a mix of Galadhrim and Wood Elves can stand up to Isengard quite well. Same $ cost as Dwarves, and you can add in pikes and solid heroes like Galadriel, Rumil or a stormcaller to flesh it out. I don't think Rohan does so well against Isengard, but allying with Galadhrim or Woses can help. |

Well I have always been able to own Isengard with Rohan (I do get beat by Isengard sometimes). Just because they have some good heros (Theoden, Eomer, Erkenbrand..etc), heavy calvery and light calvery ( Mounted Royal Guard and normal RoR ). They also are cheaper than Isengard in-game wise, and then that means you can out number your enemy with calvery and foot soldiers. Unless Isengard gets more orcs, but they are very easy to kill with mount folks. But elves and dwarves are defiantly a worthy foe. I have played them many times and using the dwarves defence and heros along with elves archers, calvery, heros, magic and Fight Value could take down Isengard |

Dwarves and Elves??????????????? Be sure to include Legolas and Gimli or else they will fight each other in the middle of the fight while the enemies will relax and play cards. |

each model in a box of wood elf warriors can cost up to about13-14 points (i beleive) so you can make a vible 300pt army with one box of soldiers and one hero, however you will need to be very smart and allying in boromir would be smart, the might points will help for doing heroic moves (meaning you can avoid any unwanted combats due to the elves low defence) |
