Maybe remove some rangers with spears to get shields at the Minas tirith warriors and also maybe Guards of the fountain court?

With the new rules and all, I thought I'd give it a try to form a Gondor army. I must admit I haven't actually seen the new rulebook, so this list is solely based on hearsay. 1st Warband: Faramir, Captain of Ithilien 6x Warrior of Minas Tirith (shield) 6x Warrior of Minas Tirith (shield, spear) 252 pnts 2nd Warband: Beregond of Gondor 6x Warrior of Minas Tirith 6x Warrior of Minas Tirith 127 pnts 3rd Warband: Damrod, Ranger of Ithilien 7x Ranger of Gondor 5x Ranger of Gonder (spear) 121 pnts Total points: 500 Total models: 39 Total Might: 5 While my two secondary heroes aren't all that powerfull, I figured that Faramir packed enough strength to make up for that. Also, since both Beregond and Damrod are rather cheap, this means I can max out on models and bows. I reckon that a force with 39 models with the new rules, is about as big as it gets at 500 points. Still, could be I'm missing something and also, I'm slightly worried about Wraiths. |

A lot of my lists have either come to 26 or 39 models, which will probably be the norm (however my friend has got 60+ hobbits in 500pts) Seems solid enough though! |

Yep, solid looking army. Not entirely sure about this new warband rule. I liked the old rule because you could mix and match warriors and heros. This feels like being a little too prescriptive. I have not seen the new rules yet, so I'll reserve final judgement. |

Perhaps some of the more elite Gondor warriors to help with wraiths? Swan knights on foot would do well, they cost 1pt more than a sword shield Warrior of Minas Tirith for the higher courage. Though I play evil and usually use a wraith so I'm not to worried about how to deal with it more how to use it. (Also I only have the Fallen Realms and Mordor books and just went off the BRB for ideas, so I may not be the best source of knowledge) |
