Hi all, i want to build an 400 points Elf army (mostly wood elf), so here is my first suggestion: Warband 1 (138): -RĂºmil, Warden of Caras Galadhon (70) -4 wood elf warriors with throwing daggers (36) -4 wood elf warriors with wood elf spears (32) Warband 2 (129): -wood elf captain with throwing daggers (70) -3 wood elf warriors with throwing daggers (27) -4 wood elf warriors with wood elf spears (32) Warband 3 (133): -Haldir, Defender of Helm's Deep (70) -7 wood elf warriors with elf bows (63) Ttal: 25 Units (7 bows: 32%) 400 points i would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions about it |

My advice is somewhat limited because i have only looked at the new books..... First off, i don't think Elladan and Elohir cannot command sepparate warband's, One of the twins can, and the other counts towards the other 12 warriors. Elladan and Elohir aren't in the Thranduils halls list, therefore they cannot command wood elves. |

The Twins can only be in one warband. One is the "Captain" and the other counts towards the max 12 of the squad. So you can only add in 11 more elves. Also, the Twins are not part of the Lothlorien and Mirkwood faction, they belong with Eregion and Rivendell. Lastly you need only count the warriors, not the hero's, for factoring the bow limit. Count all your trooops/warriors, including those with bows, to see if you meet the rule of 1/3rd. The rules for the Hero's like, The Monkey Twins, are in the 1st few pages of the new source books as well as the rules for bow limit. |

Not much you can do with 400 points, looks about as solid as it could be, though replacing the bog captain with a storm caller might be more useful. Since you can now round up for the bow limit, you might want to replace a throwing dagger with a bow, giving you 8 shots. |

In which case, run with what you've got. Whafrog is correct- if you can get the extra bow in there, with elves, it is a definite boon. Otherwise, looks good, and may your swords be sharp and your arrows fly ever true! |

From one who has spent a lot of time using wood elves, a tactical note- don't take a shieldwall on if you can help it. People with high defense one must mob to acquire the desired effect and to keep one's squishy woodelves alive (though they are surprisingly resilient sometimes). |
