Post subject:  Creature Army - just for fun

Okay, you know me, I've not posted much in this section of the boards because, well, I'm not really a competitive person. Anyway, this isn't one of those posts where I'm asking for feedback because, well, I know this isn't an army for that kind of thing. I just wanted to post because I've almost fulfilled one of those self-quests you give =) All I really want now is another wild warg chieftain and some more wild wargs (one set of grey ones, one set of brown ones).

It's about 712 points if I did the maths right, and as played is technically a bit illegal as I don't think you can have wild wargs in the Angmar list. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves in terms of fun value (at least, I think it's fun).

Sim's Monsters:

Buhrdur with two companion cave trolls and his two faithful wild warg companions. (They're still quite wild, they just know where the good hunting is.) 297 points (variable by house rule for the wargs).

Wild Warg Chieftain with (currently) four same coloured wild wargs. 107 points.

Druzhag with two bat swarms, five giant spiders and six wild wargs. Yes, this is also illegal, with one extra in the warband, but that's only until I either get the new spider-enhancing goblin or another wild warg chieftain. 308 points.

Optional: one Balrog. 400 points.

I've put more pics on the blog, though not too many because I really want to do some nice shots next time I'm at my brother's house where all the scenery is at the moment =)

The army will really be just for rampaging fun, perhaps as scenarios they might be assaulting a village or plundering a camp or, you know, just hanging around being evil and stuff. I only ever play friendly games against my brother, so it's not really an issue.

Feel free to discuss it if you want, but really I'm just happy to have finished the painting of my minis and wanted to post it because I'm grinning and happy =)

Firstly, you should call it 'Creature' army, because most of them aren't monsters, and I fist thought you meant an army made entirely out of Trolls or something.

Secondly, you can make sure its legal just by moving a few models around, so no problem.

Thirdly, I too have two different coloured groups of Wargs; brown and white, I like this sort of thing.

Fourthly, they're very well painted and look very cool.

And finally, good luck with it, as you know its not competitive, but a battlee report, as you know, is more interesting with nice armies rather than competitive ones 8)

Tbh generally these sort of armies do better than you'd think, since everyone caters their forces to battling a D7 shield wall with a shade and spears etc that it's harder to deal with trolls than expected.

Thanks for the comments all, as I said, it's just for a bit of fun, I only ever play games against my brother, and they're almost always scenarios or themed matches rather than deathmatches.

@Gothmog - good points! Changed the subject to Creature army, sorry for any misleadings! I'm don't always notice the troop type bits =)

Hoping for a game with it next week after submitting my last assignment for the semester yesterday!
