Well, you have 13 bows and 36 models so your over your bow limit by 1 so there's a couple points. Interesting idea with the blades on the archers, but wouldn't spears be a better option? Odds are your bows are going to be back row, so at least they can do something back there. Finally to get you down to par, I would probably drop the warhorn. Elves have a great stock courage and really don't rely on a horn as much as other armies, I would think you could do without if you don't want to lower your model count. |

Drop all elven blades and get spears (and a few shields) instead (wood elves maybe?). Drop the horn (your elves, you have no need for more courage), and possible drop the banner. That should save you well over 40pts, so now you can upgrade your captain to Rumil. Oh, and swap Celeborn for some other hero, he is terrible for his points. You could put in a storm caller instead, and if you continue to shave off points you can add in more and more troops. you really need to find places to drop points, because 3 warbands at 700pts is silly. |

well, for the most part I was trying to stay true to the scene from Helm's deep. I added Celeborn for the aura of command and courage 6, as that would be a good way to keep the even rock steady elves from running away. |

If you want to stay true to the Helm's Deep scene you have it right, but maybe they lost because they didn't have spears Frankly, I resent PJ for his influence over some of the visuals, because rather than overwhelming or provide a more storied way for a group to fall, he just made them stupid. The WoMT shooting at the siege towers instead of the trolls (until Gandalf tells them to...duh) are another example. Anyway, I agree with shadowswarm, especially about the spears and blades. I do like Celeborn though, I think he is solid for his points, a bit a magic and Imrahil-level stats. If you want Celeborn for his Aura, you don't need the horn and vice versa. |

Your numbers are too low. I would drop celeborn and the captain. Pick up rumil and a storm caller instead. Then split the number of shield, spear and bow units, sprinkle in some elven blade elfs and drop the horn. Something like 15 shield, 15 bow, 12 spear and then some blades. You would not have a single ultra strong hero, but the brothers are nothing to sneeze at. The storm caller has the magic. |

Take all the elf blades of anything with a bow. All models come with a hand wep unless stated in their profile. Unless you plan to use your archers to back up your normal warriors then I wouldn't bother giving them spears. That'll save you more points to put in other things. I find that having the numbers to survive is the best way to go for elves, most of their troops are basically heroes anyway compared to evil. Also drop the elf blade from the banner, it cant be used 2H so a waste of 1pt. |

I don;t see why everyone is hating on the hornblower, there is a 909.9% chance you'll be playing a wraith that will be reducing your courage, and since 20pts is not gonna buy him another warband he may aswell keep it and have 3 solid warbands. However.. definitely get Rumil or a Stormcaller instead of a captain. |
